 At first, comparing the Apple Watch Series 12 42mm with the Apple Watch SE 3 44mm sounds straightforward. The SE 3 has a 44mm case, so you might naturally expect it to have a noticeably larger screen. But when I placed the two watches side by side, that wasn't what I saw.
